After binge watching far too much Vikings programs on the telly I found parts of their culture appear in my work.
I generally don’t know what I am painting and let my intuition take the lead.
I get into a flow state and resolve the painting a layer at a time.
Sometimes I know when a layer is complete and I need to rest and come back with fresh eyes then sometimes I get lost and 4 hours later I don’t know where the time as gone.
in this painting I can clearly see a Viking long boat in vermillion orange. The people are slightly blurred out but it seems they are being fire at.
